Luck

Luck. I like it. I have two things for you concerning luck.

One: How much money is in this coin jar? I hope I find some luck in this one. Japanese money includes 100 yen (about $1.00) and 500 yen coins, so this jar could be in the range of hundreds of dollars. Post comments with your guesses - the closest guess will win a prize. I don't know what kind of prize, but I'll think of something.

Two: Luck has come to me. Harry Potter Six arrived a day early, which after reading news stories about the severity of previous leaks, feels like a bigger deal than it really is. So far so good, but I won't risk the wrath of Scholastic Publishing by revealing the book's secrets.

And take a look at the box. It has a sticker and even though I can't read Japanese, it seems pretty clear that it is saying "don't deliver this until July 16." Before giving the book to me, the delivery man pointed to the sticker, shrugged, and smiled. My kinda guy.

I just picked that book up myself. Should be good stuff.

And there are.... and can I convert to dollars? Cause I don't know how well my guess would be in Yen, but I'm thinking $300 dollars even.

Oh, and if you haven't heard about this T-ball coach who is on my blacklist, check out my blog. Seriously. It's some great stuff that will make you want to punch another human being in the face, and I am not usually like that.

In the post I said 100 yen = $1.00. Thats not exactly accurate, but since that is what is posted, as far is this game is concerned that will be the exchange rate.

and yes, I read that article, and I was going to put it in my blog but i guess you beat me to it. That is, essentially, the essence of pure evil.

Hey Chris, my guess is 12,000 yen. My suggestion for a prize is your copy of Harry Potter VI. Sankyuuu :)

let's see.. let's go with....

4.4 man.

there.. that's a good guess....

and if one of you fools pulls a price is right manuever on me... I'll kill you... well not really.. but I won't be happy.

Prize: how about a 17 inch lcd monitor?
mayhaps a copy of Arcanum (real cheap.. that would make me happy)

or or... how about a date with A.I.?

First of all, I agree with dayna. I'm so pissed that I have to wait years for the next potter book...

and the answer....

6.7 man!!! that is somwhere around $650!! (a bit less).

so the winner, guessing the highest, is NICK. OK, I havent actually thought through a prize yet. OOh, i could hook you up with some money and items when you get on warcraft..

and luke you're free to borrow harry potter. im all done.

Hey, that's great, Chris. I'll have to take you up on that offer (and I'm so embarassed to be the author of the worst guess about your money jar :P )

yeah yeah yeah I won won won won woooon (in a sing songy voice)

whatever works fine for a prize.. that doesn't sound so bad.. although that's like a crack dealer saying "the first one's free" dude. Of course WoW is the crack in this case and you aren't the dealer but the distributor....this analogy dies now.
