spontaneous adventure

Late last week I discovered that I had no classes this week through thursday, so I suddenly decided I'd like to take a trip somewhere in Japan. Satoko had to go to Tokyo on Wednesday for work, so she came along too.

Here is the entire set of photos I've made public on Flickr.

First, we visited her family's hometown in Aichi, near Nagoya. We went to a museum, visited friends, ate good food, and played with some dogs.

This is me finally making peace with the family dog, Chibi:

On Wednesday we returned to Tokyo Disneyland. Originally we planned to go to its sister resort, Tokyo DisneySea, but after hearing Satoko's friend rave about the Halloween theme, we decided to go to Land and save Sea for another day. It was fairly cool. The Haunted Mansion had been redone with a Nightmare Before Christmas theme. Mostly I was happy to go to a lot of the rides that we had been to busy to go to the last time we went to disneyland.

Hello~~Chris&Satoko~~

you really enjoyed "The Haunted Mansion" with Satoko, didn't you!!

I was very glad to hear that!!

I wanna go to Disney Sea!!!!next time.

When I read your blog, I found this phrase,"Satoko's friend RAVE about....".

I looked into "rave" because I didn't know the meaning.

It was funny for me and I could learn a new word.

Thank you~~

Take care&See ya!!

Hi Chris. The other day the yakitori man at the Maeda next to Uni-Qlo thought I was you. When my wife went over to buy some tai-yaki he told her that her husband had stopped by yesterday and had bought ONE yakitori. This could form the basis of a new name for you among the native population of the Uni-Qlo plaza: "He Buys But One Yakitori" :)

haha. thats awesome. I always buy just one because I usually am shopping to cook dinner that night. I don't want to spoil my appetite, but I can't resist yakitori aromas.

in other news, a teacher I know pretty well recently saw you driving and thought you were me. I think it's the beards...
