Excuses

Yes, I've been lazy with the blog as of late, and there are reasons, sort of. Generally I work on my blog at a specific time, when I have nothing to do at work. In the last few weeks I haven't had much time like that.

One week I had to teach a seminar for japanese teachers to improve english education. I found it a bit odd that I, a 23 year old with no training and only one year experience, was chosen for this. Luckily it went smoothly. I had a small group and everyone was laid back. I may get pictures from another teacher later from that.

The week after I had 4 free vacation days. On the weekend I went to Hakodate (I left the pics at home, Ill put a couple up soon), and then I just kicked back in Mutsu for a few days. Although I had free time, I wasn't about to use my home free time for my blog - I save that for work, where I am now. I played Warcraft.

And now my computer is acting up so I have to cut this short. I had intended to put up a random funny pic from the net, but alas...

Goodbyes

I apologize for the lack of updates. I've been busy with a seminar I had to teach and some other random stuff (aka computer games). Anyway, in the last couple weeks I've had to say goodbye to a few English teacher friends who returned to their respective countries of origin. So here are a few quick pics of my departed Mutsu buddies, may they rest in peace.

Monday's Activities

On monday I had the afternoon off, so Satoko and I made a day trip to the little onsen resort town of Asamushi, near Aomori. First we visited the aquariu. Here is a picture of a dolphin sweetly kissing Satoko's shoulder.

Here is some funny English:

And check out this cool video.

Afterward, we had time to kill so we watched a movie in Satoko's car while it rained outside.

Then came the big event - the Asamushi fireworks show. What were they celebrating? I don't know. It's festival season around here and there seem to be all sorts of things going on. Here's a pic of a big exploding firework, partially obscured by the smoke of the previous ones.

And, after returning to Mutsu, we went to our final karaoke session with my friend Jon, who leaves for America this week.
